Serving the needs of the smaller communities in the southern part of Wellington County
SOUTH WELLINGTON COMMUNITY LIONS CLUB AT A GLANCE
South Wellington Community Lions Club knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. We believe that service to our community is an essential part of a full life and we, as Lions, have for over 102 years providing that needed effort to maintain a healthy and vibrant community.
WAYS WE HELP
Meaningful Work. Unforgettable Experiences.
LITERACY
Empowering people through projects that encourage personal literacy
Beginning in August, 2021, the South Wellington Community Lions have made literacy one of our pillars of service to our communities. Our Literacy Activity Meeting Places (L.A.M.P.) are only one of our projects dedicated to improving youth and adult literacy.
YOUTH SUPPORT
Donation to Erin Air Cadets
Lions believe that supporting our yoth is at the core of our community service. The Erin Air Cadets provide a venue and program to build discipline and self-ccnfidence with youth between the ages of 12 - 18yrs and we are indeed proud to offer financial assistance to this worthwhile program.
HEALTH AND WELLBEING
Trailway Bench Rest Stop
A bench was placed at the eastern entrance to the Elora Cataract Trailway in Belwood at Wellington County Rd. 26 and Skeen St. The trail is widely used by members of the community and from afar It was a pleasure to see people enjoy the enjoyment that this bench provided to young and older alike. Members of the club also planted colourful pots of Nasturtiums to brighten up the area.
